Operations Manager / General Manager

Due to the SME nature of this incredible business this is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference and be a key influential player within the organisation. </p> <p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>Reporting directly to the MD and business owner, you will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operational performance, inter-departmental cohesion, and aiding with overall business growth and strategy. You'll lead a small team of 25 employees across all business functions through the SLT, to drive a culture accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Key responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.</li><li>Working closely with customers, suppliers and direct employees to deliver a good quality service, on time and within budget.</li><li>Monitoring KPIs and implementing performance improvement plans.</li><li>Managing production planning, resource allocation, and delivery schedules.</li><li>Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards.</li><li>Collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop and execute operational strategy.</li><li>Supporting employee development, succession planning, and team engagement.</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>Profile</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the wider business, and will communicate effectively with the SLT.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>You will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.</li><li>Strong background within industrial, engineering, or technical environments.</li><li>Key communication skills at all levels of the business, and the ability to work with a variety of different characters.</li><li>Demonstrable experience driving productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.</li><li>Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.</li><li>Commercial awareness with a focus on customer satisfaction and business performance.</li><li>Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational capabilities.</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>Job Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Salary ranging from £55 - £65k, depending on experience</li><li>Discretionary bonus</li><li>Enhanced pension scheme</li><li>Longer term progression opportunities available</li><li>Opportunity to make a significant impact within a successful, growing organisation</li></ul> <p><br /></p>
