<strong>Group Credit Manager – Paramount Retail Group</strong> <p><strong>Salary:</strong> £55,000 – £70,000 per annum + bonus</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Chapeltown, Sheffield / Hybrid / Remote</p> <p><strong>Job Type:</strong> Full-time, Permanent</p> <strong>The Role</strong> <p><strong>Paramount Retail Group</strong> is looking for an experienced and commercially minded <strong>Group Credit Manager</strong> to take responsibility for credit management and cash collection across the Group's growing portfolio of businesses.</p> <p>The role will oversee credit activity across the Group, with the <strong>primary focus initially being DB Foods</strong>, one of the Group's largest and most commercially significant businesses.</p> <p>Working closely with senior management, Finance, Commercial and Sales teams, you will provide strong financial control while maintaining a commercially focused approach to customer relationships.</p> <strong>About Paramount Retail Group</strong> <p>Paramount Retail Group is a UK-owned, family-led investment and operating group with a growing portfolio of established British businesses spanning food, retail, manufacturing and consumer products.</p> <p>Following the acquisition of DB Foods, Paramount has continued to invest in the business, supporting its growth plans and strengthening its operational and commercial infrastructure.</p> <p>This role offers the opportunity to help build the financial infrastructure required to support continued Group growth.</p> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> <ul> <li>Take overall responsibility for credit management and cash collection across the Group.</li><li>Lead the credit function, establishing clear processes, controls and performance standards.</li><li>Have primary responsibility for the DB Foods customer ledger and credit function.</li><li>Develop and implement a consistent Group-wide credit policy.</li><li>Monitor customer exposure, credit limits, payment terms and aged debt.</li><li>Drive improvements in cash collection and debtor performance.</li><li>Proactively manage overdue and high-risk accounts.</li><li>Identify potential bad debt and credit risks and ensure appropriate escalation.</li><li>Work with Sales and Commercial teams to balance customer relationships with effective credit controls.</li><li>Review and approve credit limits and payment terms within agreed authority levels.</li><li>Establish credit assessment procedures for new customers.</li><li>Produce credit and debtor reporting for senior management.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and automation.</li><li>Support cash-flow forecasting and working capital management.</li><li>Develop KPIs and performance measures for credit management.</li><li>Manage and develop credit control personnel as the Group function evolves.</li><li>Work with senior leadership to identify and mitigate financial and commercial risks.</li><li>Establish a scalable credit function capable of supporting future acquisitions and Group growth.</li></ul> <strong>DB Foods – Initial Focus</strong> <p>DB Foods will represent the <strong>main area of focus initially</strong>.</p> <p>The successful candidate will gain a detailed understanding of the DB Foods customer base, trading arrangements, credit exposure and existing processes, before implementing improvements where required.</p> <p>Key priorities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Reviewing the debtor book and aged debt profile.</li><li>Assessing customer credit limits and payment terms.</li><li>Improving cash collection performance.</li><li>Strengthening credit approval and escalation procedures.</li><li>Working closely with DB Foods' commercial and finance teams.</li><li>Improving management information and reporting.</li><li>Identifying opportunities to reduce debtor days and improve working capital.</li><li>Establishing clear ownership of outstanding debt.</li></ul> <p>The longer-term objective will be to <strong>build a consistent credit framework across the Paramount Group</strong>, allowing individual businesses to retain their commercial identity while benefiting from stronger group-level controls and expertise.</p> <strong>About You</strong> <p>We're looking for an experienced <strong>Credit Manager, Group Credit Manager, Head of Credit or senior Credit Controller</strong> ready to take ownership of a wider group-level function.</p> <p>You will be commercially astute and comfortable balancing <strong>cash collection, risk management and commercial relationships</strong>, with experience in a multi-site, multi-company or acquisitive organisation.</p> <strong>You will have:</strong> <ul> <li>Significant experience in credit management and credit control.</li><li>Experience managing substantial customer ledgers.</li><li>Strong knowledge of credit risk, collections and working capital.</li><li>Experience managing or developing a credit team/function.</li><li>Excellent negotiation and communication skills.</li><li>Strong commercial awareness and confidence challenging customers and stakeholders.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Experience producing management information and credit reporting.</li><li>A proactive approach to improving processes and systems.</li><li>The ability to work independently and take ownership.</li><li>Strong attention to detail with a wider commercial perspective.</li></ul> <strong>Ideally, you will also have:</strong> <ul> <li>Experience working across multiple businesses or legal entities.</li><li>Experience within an acquisitive or private-equity/family-office backed environment.</li><li>Experience within FMCG, food, wholesale, manufacturing, distribution or retail.</li><li>Experience improving credit management systems and processes.</li><li>Experience integrating credit functions following acquisitions.</li></ul> <strong>What We're Looking For</strong> <p>This is not simply a role focused on chasing overdue invoices.
