Welcome to Yorkshire
The award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for its final events of the summer. With the popular Night Out at the Zoo returning on Saturday, 22nd August, and the last ever Wild Live concerts taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, visitors have plenty to look forward to.
Night Out At The Zoo
Night Out at the Zoo offers a unique experience for families, allowing visitors to explore the park until 9 pm while enjoying live entertainment. This year, the event promises a vibrant atmosphere with captivating performances from giraffe and zebra stilt walkers, colourful parrot entertainers, and engaging animal-themed puppets, all taking place across the scenic Tsavo Lawns. Food lovers will also be pleased, as a variety of freshly cooked street food will be available for an additional charge.

John Minion, the CEO of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, expressed enthusiasm about the event:
“Night Out at the Zoo has become one of our most popular summer events. Visitors can spend the day seeing some of the world’s most incredible animals before enjoying live entertainment and a fantastic atmosphere into the evening.”
This event not only extends the fun of visiting the park but also creates lasting memories for families as they enjoy the combination of wildlife and live performances.
Final Wild Live Concerts
As summer draws to a close, the Wild Live concerts will mark an exciting finale. Scheduled for Saturday, 29th and Sunday, 30th August, these concerts will feature an impressive line-up of artists. Scouting for Girls will headline the Saturday concert, supported by popular acts like Paddy McGuinness, The Hoosiers, Toploader, and Camens. The following evening will see Ocean Colour Scene take the stage, alongside The Feeling, The Farm, and Stereo MC’s.
Concert tickets include full-day admission to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, allowing attendees to enjoy the park’s attractions before the music starts. For those wanting to extend their fun, camp pitches are available to book for a full weekend experience. John Minion shared his excitement, saying, “The Wild Live concerts have become a favourite over the years, and we’re looking forward to welcoming some fantastic performers for our final festival weekend of concerts. It will be a special weekend and a great way to bring Wild Live to a close.”
Meet The New Residents
This summer has been particularly special for Yorkshire Wildlife Park, with the introduction of 20 endangered African penguins, who have settled into their new £1.2 million habitat. The habitat features a large pool, beach, and grassy area inspired by South Africa’s famous Boulders Beach, complete with rocks and pebbles. Visitors can even enjoy underwater viewing to see the penguins up close as they swim and play.
John Minion noted, “It’s been a fantastic summer at Yorkshire Wildlife Park and there’s still plenty for visitors to look forward to. The African penguins have been a really exciting addition, and it’s been wonderful to see them settling into their new home.” This addition not only enhances the park’s commitment to conservation but also provides an opportunity for visitors to learn more about these fascinating birds.
A Focus On Conservation
Yorkshire Wildlife Park is dedicated to conservation and provides an immersive experience for guests. Visitors can come face to face with some of the world’s most beautiful and endangered species, including Polar Bears, Black Rhinos, Giraffes, and African Painted Dogs. The park aims to educate the public about wildlife conservation while providing a fun and engaging environment for families.
The park also features The Hex Wildlife Hotel and The Yorkshire Hive, a shopping, dining, and entertainment village that adds to the overall experience for visitors. Whether it’s enjoying a meal, shopping for souvenirs, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of the park, there’s something for everyone.
As the school holidays come to an end, Yorkshire Wildlife Park encourages families to take advantage of these final summer events. The combination of wildlife experiences, live entertainment, and new attractions like the African penguins makes for a memorable visit. With the last Night Out at the Zoo and the final Wild Live concerts on the horizon, it’s a perfect opportunity to create lasting memories before the summer wraps up.
