To us, a gimme is something else entirely. It's a game that turns into an evening. A cold drink that turns into five. Food good enough to book a table before you've even teed off. A room fit for champions. Or at least people who think they are. Merch you'll actually want.
Basically, a gimme is any moment so good... it's a given! And we've 'given' this type of golf a new home.

Myself and a friend semi-regularly use the Driving Range, it's a great way to have a catch up and improve on our technique. The facilities are great, there's ample parking, the staff are extremely polite and the TrackMan kit is impressive. It's (currently) £11.50 for 1 hour in a standard TrackMan bay with 100 balls, which I think it's excellent value for money. You can also hire clubs too if you so wish, I think it's about £6 or £7. Overall great value for money and very enjoyable. We'll certainly be coming back!
Great Driving range, went for a lesson with Nathan Stead. Great Knowledge and teaching, both indoor and outdoor lessons available all on Trackman. Club fitting available, highly recommended.
Absolutely class through and through. The Par 3 Repton will leave you wanting more, and the Hawtree has changed over the years to introduce a challenging finish. Thoroughly enjoyed this more than I did when I played last year and I didn't think that could be possible.
This is a challenging golf course, parkland with some water hazards and plenty of trees. Around the third hole fantastic views of the front of the hotel. On the back nine holes have been changed so anyone with a garmin will find the range difficult owing to the remodelling of later holes. Some greens were a little bit ‘fluffy’ as the course settles into its summer state. Lots of helpful staff in the clubhouse and hotel. This was a return visit, and somewhere I’d be happy to come back to. Some difficult approach shots on the back nine, particularly for the shorter hitters.
Played the full course for the first time and was very impressed. The course is very picturesque and quite open - so nice and inviting for a mid handicap golfer. There's lots of options to hit your driver from the tee with confidence. The course was also in great condition, so a credit to the greenkeepers. The driving range is brilliant too - it's a trackman range with good food and drink.
