Family sinday lunch. Really friendly staff. Excellent service and delicious Yorkshire pub food. We had the meat pie - proper short crust pastry on three sides. Packed full of tender beef. Gravy served on the side with seasonal vegetables. Lovely pub chips. Kids sausage and Chicken bites went down well. Definitely book in for busy times. Nice outdoor seating area for a post-walk pint. Excellent Yorkshire ales - smooth and well kept Black Sheep and Saltaire beers.

Highly recommend this pub. Friendly atmosphere. Great local beer. The food is excellent and the portions generous. Can recommend the steak pie and ginger sponge pudding. Special thanks to the chef who went out of his way to give us lift back to our holiday cottage after our car broke down!

We were staying in a cottage opposite the pub this weekend and decided to have Sunday Dinner. The food was outstanding, the beef was melt in your mouth, Yorkshire puddings, veg and roast potatoes perfectly cooked. All topped off with lashings of gravy. We shared an apple and blackberry crumble and custard for pudding as we were stuffed from the main, but couldn't resist πŸ˜„. The perfect combination of sweet and sour, just to die for. The staff are warm, attentive and friendly. Cannot recommend the Kings Head and staff highly enough, bloody marvelous! Thank you for an outstanding Sunday dinner and pudding..... we will be back x

We had Sunday lunch for a family get together , 5 adults ,4 children. That adults all had the meat pie , it was excellent , plenty of meat delicious gravy and lot of veg. Just one one pudding which was shared by two (sticky toffee pudding) .The children all enjoyed their meals . No complaints from anyone . My husband and I went for an evening meal and the food was excellent again, not having a big appetite I had a child’s fish and chips which was just right for me. We followed this with chocolate fudge cake and ice cream, home made by the chefs mum. The staff were very obliging and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. We also popped in a couple of times just for a drink. Beer excellent. Highly recommend it.

Best Pub in the Dale. Great food, witha wide selection of styles. The steak and ale pie is beautiful. During peak season, book early to avoid disappointment. The King's Head has a fantastic pub atmosphere too, helped by it's wood burning stove and a range of well kept local beers.
