RHS Garden Harlow Carr near Harrogate will light up for Christmas once again this winter as RHS Glow celebrates its 10th anniversary at the North Yorkshire garden.

Running on selected dates from 26 November to 30 December 2026, the after-dark trail will feature eight new installations, interactive displays, illuminated trees and a major new artwork created in collaboration with Light Night Leeds.

Eight new installations for 2026

A decade after RHS Glow first illuminated Harlow Carr, visitors will be able to explore a refreshed trail featuring eight new installations.

The route will take visitors through displays including glimmering columns of light, giant illuminated dandelions and a colourful patchwork of light. Touch-sensitive installations and atmospheric soundscapes will add interactive elements along the way.

New Light Night Leeds artwork comes to Harlow Carr

One of this year's highlights will be Common Ground, a new joint art commission with Light Night Leeds.

Created by collaborative art collective ‘are you playing out?’, the 30-metre illuminated sculpture explores connections between people, place and the natural world.

After dark, sound-reactive LED lighting within the structure will produce pulses, glows and waves of colour in response to sound.

Winter Walk illuminated for the first time

Visitors to RHS Glow will also travel through Harlow Carr's Winter Walk for the first time.

The garden's champion trees will be illuminated to highlight their shapes and intricate details, while a striking neon tree will form a new focal point beside the Queen Mother's Lake.

The route concludes with views towards the Doric Columns from the top of the Main Borders.

Festive food and Christmas shopping

Alongside the illuminations, RHS Glow visitors will be able to enjoy festive food and drink, including the opportunity to toast marshmallows over fire pits.

RHS Garden Centres and gift shops will also stay open late, with Christmas trees, decorations and gifts available for visitors looking to combine the light trail with some Christmas shopping.
