<p><strong>Senior Accounts Officer</strong></p> <p><strong>Harrogate Town Centre</strong><strong>£30,000 - £40,000 DOE</strong><strong>Full Time | Permanent</strong><strong>Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 5:30pm</strong></p> <p>Are you an experienced accounts professional with a strong bookkeeping background and excellent systems knowledge?</p> <p>Our client, a growing and professional business based in Harrogate town centre, is looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Officer to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function. This role would suit an experienced Bookkeeper, Senior Accounts Assistant, Accounts Officer, or a highly tech-savvy finance professional who enjoys improving processes, working with business systems, and maintaining accurate financial records.</p> <p>Experience using MRI software would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong accounting systems experience and the ability to quickly adapt to new platforms will also be considered.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Managing the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations</li><li>Maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations</li><li>Processing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions</li><li>Raising invoices and managing payment allocations</li><li>Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring</li><li>Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions</li><li>Credit control and debt management</li><li>Assisting with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements</li><li>Producing management reports and financial information for senior stakeholders</li><li>Supporting month-end and year-end processes</li><li>Working with MRI and other finance systems to ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity</li><li>Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and system efficiencies</li><li>Liaising with external accountants and auditors when required</li></ul> <p>Skills & Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience within a senior bookkeeping, accounts, or finance role</li><li>Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures</li><li>Previous responsibility for sales ledger, purchase ledger, reconciliations, and reporting</li><li>Experience using accounting software and business management systems</li><li>MRI software experience would be advantageous</li><li>Highly IT literate with strong Excel skills</li><li>Comfortable working with both manual processes and technology-driven systems</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and take ownership of workloads</li><li>A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities</li></ul> <p>What's on Offer?</p> <ul> <li>Salary of <strong>£30,000 - £40,000</strong>, depending on experience</li><li><strong>25 days holiday plus bank holidays</strong></li><li>Monday to Friday, <strong>9:00am - 5:30pm</strong></li><li>Office-based role in <strong>Harrogate town centre</strong></li><li>Potential for hybrid working in the future</li><li>Modern and professional working environment</li><li>Long-term opportunity with a growing business</li></ul> <p>If you're an experienced accounts professional who enjoys taking ownership of finance processes and leveraging technology to improve efficiency, we'd love to hear from you.
