Assistant Management Accountant
<p>Some finance jobs give you one tiny piece of the puzzle, this isn't one of them.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>This is a temporary opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the day-to-day running of a finance function. Yes, there'll be invoices, reconciliations and payroll. But you'll also get involved in month-end, management accounts, reporting and plenty of the work that sits behind good financial decision-making.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>It's one of those roles that looks fairly straightforward on paper, but the reality is you'll become a key part of keeping everything moving.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>You'll be working alongside an experienced Finance Director and a supportive finance team, giving you exposure to the full finance cycle rather than being boxed into one area.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Processing purchase invoices, matching purchase orders and managing supplier payments</li><li>Looking after purchase and sales ledger reconciliations, resolving queries and keeping aged balances under control</li><li>Processing weekly and monthly payroll while dealing with employee queries accurately and confidentially</li><li>Supporting month-end with journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations</li><li>Assisting with management accounts, reporting packs and KPI reporting</li><li>Helping with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting and variance analysis</li><li>Maintaining the fixed asset register</li><li>Supporting year-end activities, audit requests and other finance projects</li><li>Producing ad hoc analysis and helping improve existing finance processes</li><li>Making sure financial records remain accurate and up to date</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>What do you need?</strong></p> <ul> <li>AAT qualification, be studying CIMA, ACCA or ACA, or be qualified through experience</li><li>Experience within a finance or accounts environment, with some exposure to management accounts</li><li>Good Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables and handling data comfortably)</li><li>Payroll experience would be helpful, but it's certainly not essential</li><li>A methodical approach and good attention to detail</li><li>The confidence to communicate with people across the business</li><li>A willingness to learn and get involved wherever needed</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>What's in it for you?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Temporary position with an opportunity to become permanent</li><li>Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)</li><li>Hybrid working</li><li>Exposure to the full finance function rather than one small corner of it</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p>If you're looking for a temporary finance role where you'll genuinely build your experience, rather than simply keeping a seat warm, click "apply now".</p>
