A new chapter has begun for the kitchen specialist Magnet with the opening of its latest store in Harrogate. On the morning of Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Viv Poskitt, officially cut the ribbon at the new location on Albert Street, welcoming the brand into the town’s heart.

New Store Location

The newly opened showroom occupies a spacious 2,260 square feet and replaces Magnet’s previous store at Plantation House on Skipton Road. This move is part of Magnet’s strategy to bring its services closer to customers, making it more accessible for residents and visitors alike. With the new location, Magnet aims to provide a more central hub for those looking to design or renovate their kitchens.

Store Features and Offerings

The Harrogate store showcases a selection of Magnet’s most popular kitchen styles and finishes. Some of the featured designs include:

  • Ambleside Oak & Meadow

  • Bewdley in Morello & Chalk Blush

  • A working kitchen featuring Soho & Reed in Parchment & Misty Moors

  • The Ludlow Butler’s Pantry in Cornish Clay

The store is managed by Michael Higgins, who leads a dedicated team of three. Together, they aim to provide an engaging and informative kitchen-buying experience, assisting customers in creating spaces that reflect their lifestyles and preferences.

Celebrating Local Heritage

Magnet has deep roots in Yorkshire, having been founded in Bingley in 1918. The company still maintains its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Darlington, ensuring that its northern heritage is an integral part of its identity.

Sophie Rose, the CEO of Magnet, expressed pride in the new store’s opening:

“As a business founded in Yorkshire over a hundred years ago, it’s great to be continuing the Magnet story here in Harrogate, so close to where it all began.”

Upcoming Events

The excitement doesn’t end with the store opening. On Saturday, 5 September, Magnet is planning a special customer event themed around one of Yorkshire’s favourite pastimes: enjoying a proper cup of tea. This event, titled The Perfect Brew Kitchen, features a specially designed tea nook that celebrates this cherished ritual.

During the event, local tea business True Tea will be on-site for tea tastings, helping to settle the age-old debate of whether to add milk first or last. Customers can participate in The Great Brew Debate by voting in-store, with a chance to win the contents of the fully stocked Perfect Brew Pantry, valued at £400. This pantry includes everything needed for the perfect brew at home.

Prizes and Promotions

In addition to the tea-related activities, attendees can enjoy live cooking demonstrations featuring NEFF appliances, including those used on The Great British Bake Off. There will be plenty of tea and cake for everyone to enjoy while exploring the new showroom.

Moreover, for those looking to enhance their own kitchens, Magnet will offer five Quooker boiling water taps, valued at £1,000 each, to the first five qualifying kitchen orders. Throughout September, customers who book a design appointment and subsequently order a kitchen will also be entered into a prize draw to win either a brand-new Butler Pantry or £1,500 off their kitchen order.

Store Hours

The Magnet Harrogate showroom is open for business Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm. This new location aims to provide a welcoming and inspiring environment for anyone looking to create their dream kitchen.

With its fresh approach and focus on customer experience, Magnet’s new store in Harrogate is set to become a popular destination for those in the area seeking kitchen design inspiration and expertise.
