About Slingsby Gin

Slingsby Gin is a popular brand that was established in 2014, drawing inspiration from Harrogate's rich history. The brand is named after William Slingsby, who discovered the mineral-rich Tewit Well in Harrogate back in 1571. This well is significant for its healing properties, and it serves as a reminder of the town's spa heritage.

Using spring water sourced from the local aquifer, Slingsby Gin incorporates a variety of botanicals, which are plants used to flavour the gin. The company launched its first product, Slingsby London Dry Gin, in 2015 and has since won over 100 awards for its exceptional quality and taste.

Chris Williams, the director of Slingsby Gin, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership:

“Slingsby is delighted to be the official gin partner of Harrogate International Festivals. This partnership brings together two organisations that share deep roots in Harrogate, along with a commitment to championing the town and celebrating its rich social and cultural fabric.”

What This Means for Harrogate

The partnership is not just about gin; it represents a deeper connection to the community. Sharon Canavar, chief executive of Harrogate International Festivals, shared her excitement:

“We’re thrilled to have Slingsby Gin, a brand that means so much to people in the town, as one of our key partners. Both organisations are passionate about Harrogate, and this is an opportunity to celebrate and promote its unique heritage.”
