Compendium Living, a regeneration company based in Hull, has recently welcomed a new Project Manager, Lisa Johnson, to its team. This appointment is aimed at bolstering the company’s efforts in delivering large-scale regeneration projects across the country, which are essential for improving local communities and creating sustainable living environments.

New Project Manager Joins Compendium Living

Lisa Johnson comes with an impressive background, boasting over 25 years of experience in the housing and regeneration sectors. Originally from Birmingham, she has held various roles in repairs and housing management before shifting her focus towards development and regeneration. This shift has now led her to Compendium Living, where she will play a crucial role in the company’s ongoing projects aimed at revitalising local areas. In her own words, Lisa expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating:

“I was attracted to the role as it brings together project delivery, partnership working and community engagement. Compendium Living’s focus on quality homes and the wider regeneration of local areas closely reflects my professional interests and experience. I’m really excited to have joined a company with a clear focus on regeneration, partnerships and long-term placemaking.”

Compendium Living’s Vision

Compendium Living operates as a joint venture formed by Lovell Partnerships and the Riverside Group. Since its establishment in 2005, the company has concentrated on delivering complex, housing-led regeneration projects. This includes the ongoing redevelopment of Castleward in Derby city centre and the Ings area in east Hull.

- Castleward: This project is one of Derby’s largest housing developments, aiming to provide around 700 new homes, green open spaces, and approximately 35,000 square feet of commercial retail space.

- The Ings: This regeneration initiative is set to deliver over 700 new homes, contributing to a new community known as The Leeway.

Lisa is eager to support these significant projects:

“I’m looking forward to supporting the delivery of Compendium Living’s regeneration projects. These schemes are about more than delivering new homes; they’re about supporting regeneration through partnership working, helping to create attractive, sustainable places where people want to live and spend time, as well as contributing to the long-term wellbeing of local communities.”

Focus on Community Engagement

One of the standout aspects of Lisa's role is her commitment to community engagement. She highlighted how her responsibilities will not only involve project management but also building relationships with stakeholders and local communities. This is particularly important as successful regeneration projects rely heavily on the input and support of those who live and work in the area. “The opportunity to work with a wide range of partners and contribute to projects that are revitalising local areas is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role,” Lisa added. This collaborative approach is vital for ensuring that developments meet the specific needs of local residents and contribute positively to the community.

Leadership Changes at Compendium Living

Lisa's appointment follows another significant leadership change within Compendium Living. Recently, Simon Medler was brought on board as the new Managing Director. Simon has a wealth of experience, having spent nearly 19 years as the Regional Managing Director for Lovell in the East Anglia region. His background includes successfully establishing joint venture partnerships and fostering strong relationships with local authorities and communities. In addition to his role at Compendium Living, Simon also serves as the Operations and Customer Experience Director at Lovell, indicating a strong leadership team focused on both operational excellence and community-centric development.
