Leeds has transformed into a giant board game, and the excitement is palpable! Over the weekend, thousands of people took to the streets as the city launched Trivial Pursuit Leeds, an engaging event that turns the entire city centre into a massive version of the beloved trivia game. The opening weekend saw an impressive 12,000 participants join in on the fun, making it a memorable start to a five-week adventure.
Pursuit Begins
Running from 25 July to 30 August 2026, Trivial Pursuit Leeds invites residents and visitors alike to explore the city while testing their knowledge about all things Leeds. This free-to-play event allows players to collect wedges at various locations around the city, including popular spots like Wellington Place, the Merrion Centre, and Trinity Leeds. The final question is answered at the Leeds City Museum, where a specially created version of the Trivial Pursuit board awaits eager players.
A Citywide Celebration
Trivial Pursuit Leeds is part of the Leeds 400 celebrations, honouring 400 years since the city received its charter in 1626.

This event is not just a game but a citywide celebration of Leeds' stories, achievements, and surprising trivia from the last four centuries.
More Than Just Trivia
Each of the game’s six categories doubles as a mini-exhibition, effectively turning the path into a moving museum of Leeds. As players navigate through the city, they encounter real artefacts that showcase the rich history of Leeds. Some notable items include:
King's Jacket - A remarkable piece made from AW Hainsworth cloth, commemorating the coronation of HM King Charles III.
A costume from the Rock 'n' Roll Panto at City Varieties Music Hall.
Leeds United's signed home shirt for the 2025–26 season, featuring a design that pays tribute to the Lowfields Tunnel at Elland Road.
A replica of a 25-pounder shell, produced primarily by women at the Barnbow factory during World War II.
The original Pudsey bear from BBC Children in Need, named after the West Yorkshire town, is also on display, returning to its roots.
Fun for Everyone
Trivial Pursuit Leeds is designed for players of all ages, making it a fantastic family activity. With gameplay running from Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm, and on Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved. The central hub for the event is located at Leeds City Museum, which is open Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Hosts and Guides
To enhance the experience, players will be guided by a series of on-screen hosts, including characters such as Trivia Newton-John and Quiz Pine, with categories hosted by well-known figures like Alex Zane, Ruth Goodman, and Daniel Norcross. This adds an extra layer of excitement and engagement as players navigate through the game.
