Great little pub for food on an evening when we where camping near. Dog friendly . Warning the portions are very bigβ¦.π. Great value. Very busy so make sure you book if you can .
Recommended to us in the info pack at our accommodation and did not disappoint! Was walking distance, so worked up an appetite on the way, which was definitely needed - the portions are certainly on the generous side, but they'll box anything up to take away. The large chicken parmo went down well for supper as well! Prices are more than reasonable, the food's delicious and the service and atmosphere are great π
Traditional village pub. This time we visited for the little annual steam fair which they host. Enjoyed a pint in the sunshine on the village green and looking at the working exhibits. No charge. Recomnended.
Iβm a bit biased, but in my top 5 pubs in the world. The friendliest welcome, whether you are a local or a visitor. Very well kept beer, all the pub food classics, and pretty much unchanged in the 35 years I have been coming here
We have visited this pub twice and our first reaction was that it was a bit dark, needed a lick of paint and wasn't particularly welcoming. We were vey wrong! This pub is the beating heart of the local community, the staff are really friendly and once you're tucked up beside the fire it is warm and welcoming. The locals are extremely friendly and the beer is good and reasonably priced. The food is fabulous and the portions are good (try the combination starter). I recommend that anyone passing or staying nearby pop in for a pint and something to eat.
