Operations Manager
<p>We are seeking a dynamic and experienced <strong>Operations Manager</strong> to lead our Logistics team in Leeds. You’ll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Location</strong>: Leeds (WF6 1RY)</li><li><strong>Contract: </strong>Full Time/Permanent</li><li><strong>Shift</strong>: Monday-Friday (40 hours)</li><li><strong>Salary: </strong>Competative </li></ul> <p><strong>Operations Manager Key Responsibilities;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.</li><li>Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.</li><li>Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.</li><li>Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.</li><li>Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.</li><li>Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.</li><li>Drive an inclusive culture and ensure Wellbeing, diversity and Inclusivity events are actively promoted at site level.</li></ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.</li><li>Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.</li><li>Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.</li><li>ICT proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills.</li></ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 GCSEs (A–C or equivalent)</li><li>Licence CPC Certification</li><li>IOSH Certification</li></ul> <p><strong>Desired:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in milk or food logistics</li><li>Familiarity with unionized environments (e.g., USDAW)</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <p>You’ll be part of a forward-thinking logistics team within a leading dairy business, where innovation, teamwork, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.
