At Armaflo, we're looking for a commercially minded Stock Controller who wants more than simply maintaining stock records. This is an opportunity to take ownership of inventory performance, influence purchasing decisions and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of our business. You'll work directly with senior leaders, collaborating across Sales, Operations, Finance and Warehouse to ensure we have the right products, in the right place, at the right time. You'll be trusted to challenge existing ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions that improve customer service, release working capital and strengthen our supply certainty. This is a role for someone who enjoys analysing data but also believes the best answers are often found by getting out into the warehouse, asking questions and understanding how things work in practice. You'll be responsible for improving the accuracy, availability and commercial performance of our stock, helping us balance outstanding customer service with effective stock investment. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll analyse demand, purchasing activity, customer trends and stock performance to identify risks and opportunities before they become problems. You'll investigate discrepancies thoroughly, understand the causes and implement lasting improvements rather than simply correcting figures. This is a highly visible role where your decisions will directly influence customer satisfaction, cash flow and operational performance. Main responsibilities Improve inventory accuracy and availability across all product ranges. Analyse demand, usage, purchasing trends and stock performance to support better commercial decisions. Identify potential stock shortages before they affect customers. Recommend improvements to stock profiles, replenishment strategies and purchasing decisions. Identify slow-moving, obsolete and excess stock, proposing practical actions to improve performance. Investigate stock discrepancies and resolve root causes. Lead cycle counting and support annual stock takes. Produce meaningful inventory reports, dashboards and management information. Work closely with Sales to understand changing customer demand and future projects. Partner with Warehouse teams to improve stock handling, transaction accuracy and operational processes. Continuously review and improve inventory processes, systems and ways of working. What we're looking for We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how businesses work and isn't satisfied with surface-level answers. You'll be naturally curious, commercially aware and comfortable challenging assumptions using both data and practical investigation. Ideally you'll have: Experience in stock control, inventory management, supply chain, purchasing or inventory planning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Lookups and working with large data sets. Experience using ERP or inventory management systems. A good understanding of inventory performance, stock availability, demand planning and working capital. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the confidence to work across multiple departments. A practical, hands-on approach with the confidence to investigate issues first-hand. A mindset focused on ownership, continuous improvement and delivering results. Experience within wholesale, distribution, manufacturing or logistics would be advantageous, but attitude, capability and the desire to improve things are more important than industry background.
