Product Description

Scotch Bonnet peppers, originating in Mexico, are renowned for their intense heat and fruity flavour, ideal for adding a fiery kick to your culinary creations. These plants have a tall growing habit and yield crops that transition from lime green to orange, maturing into a menacing dark red as the skin wrinkles, indicating peak ripeness. For optimal growth, cultivate in a greenhouse or a hot and sunny garden spot. Harvest when fully ripened for fresh use or drying. Chilli peppers may be grown undercover in greenhouses or polytunnels, or outdoors in a sheltered, sun-drenched location. Pot up young plants and nurture them in warm, free-draining conditions. Once established, transplant into grow bags, containers, or well-prepared beds of fertile, well-drained soil. When growing outdoors, gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before transplanting, spacing them 50cm (20") apart. Regular feeding and watering are essential to prevent bud drop. Taller varieties may need staking. Mulch generously with organic matter to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. In greenhouses, maintain high humidity by damping down paths daily.
