Claessens 13 Very Fine Linen Is An Artist Quality, Double Oil-primed Linen With A Fine Grain Structure, Manufactured By Claessens In Belgium. It Is Carefully Prepared Using Traditional Methods To Produce A Refined And Consistent Surface Specifically Designed For Oil Painting. The Raw Linen Is First Sized With A Synthetic, Acid-free PVA Glue Before Zinc White Primer Bound With Linseed Oil Is Applied Using Knives. After Air-drying For Three Days, The Surface Is Sanded And A Second Coating Based On Titanium White Is Applied With Knives And A Roller. The Canvas Is Then Left To Air Dry For A Further Ten Days, Resulting In A Smooth, Stable Surface That Is Suitable For Oil Painting.
