Enjoy the taste of 400 years of traditional brewing excellence. The first recorded mention of Paulaner beer dates back to 1634, when the civilian brewers of Munich complained to the council about the strong competition from the local monks. The monks were only supposed to brew for themselves, but they loosely interpreted the rules, sharing their surplus with the poor and selling it at the cloister pub. The official complaint by the civilian brewers is considered the founding date of Paulaner brewery. A very traditional pilsner, it has a brilliant golden pour, with a clean and hoppy taste on a bready malt base, alongside a peppery bitterness and fresh, dry finish. It is a wonderful pairing with schnitzel, it cuts through the grease while the hops enhance the savoury meat.
