Abeille de Fieuzal Blanc 2018, Bordeaux

Bordeaux isn’t just famous for its reds, it also makes some incredible, age-worthy white wines, too. The two hero white grapes from Bordeaux are Sauvignon Blanc and Semillion. But you won’t find those big, punchy New Zealand styles. Here, they’re more refined, delicate, and mineral, thanks to the climate and winemaking in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. This generously fruity white is bursting with flavours of white peach, blossom, pear, zesty lime, and blanched almonds. Ageing in a mix of oak barrels, concrete eggs, and stainless steel brings a lovely vanilla edge and texture that’s the perfect match with a wide range of dishes.
