It’s said that Venetian grapegrowers brought it with them upon fleeing to the countryside during the Plague. Between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, cool and breezy hillsides offer the perfect environment for citrusy, high-acidity Verdicchio. Wines from the high-altitude Castelli di Jesi appellation are known for their refreshing, minerally character.
