Chateau Musar is a distinctive winery rooted in Lebanon’s ancient winemaking tradition, with its vineyards in the high-altitude Bekaa Valley, where vines have thrived for over 6,000 years. In 1930, at just 20 years old, Gaston Hochar founded Chateau Musar, inspired by Lebanon’s historic winemaking prowess and his travels in Bordeaux. Gaston named his venture “Musar,” honouring the Hochar family’s ancestral castle, "M’zar," meaning “place of beauty.” Today, Musar wines are crafted with minimal intervention, using wild yeast fermentation and certified organic practices, so that each vintage reflects Lebanon’s unique climate and terroir. This full-bodied red is elegant and vibrant, displaying red-fruit aromas and flavours, perfect with roasted red meat or mature cheese.
