We sent our award-winning buying team all around the world on an exciting new mission: to curate a new collection showcasing the best examples of key regions and core grape varietals – at great prices. Our France buyer, Elizabeth Kelly MW, went out searching for a wine similar to Burgundy Pinot Noir – at a fraction of the price. This is the wine that took the top spot. It’s made by Maison Duvergey-Taboureau, a producer with over 150 years of experience with Burgundian varietals. Aged mostly in stainless steel tanks to preserve fresh fruity flavours, this wine sees a quarter of the blend aged in oak barrels to provide complexity and add hints of spice. With delicate aromas of cherry and coffee with subtle toast notes, it’s an approachable, easy-drinking red that’s a great match with meat dishes, pizza and barbecues.
