Potato 'Duke of York'

First early Potato ‘Duke of York’ is a heritage potato dating from 1891, and has been enduringly popular ever since, producing quality, pale yellow, oval tubers with excellent flavour and multi-purpose usage. This first early can be picked as tasty new potatoes or left to develop into medium-sized spuds with a dry, mealy texture that is great for everything from perfect for buttery mash, fluffy jackets, golden roasties, or crispy chips. Plants are reasonably low so they make a good choice for windy, exposed locations. Ultimate height and spread: 50cm (20in).
