Embutidos Carchelejo was founded in 1960 by Mr. Bernardino González and his wife Mrs. Juana Lomas. It all started in Carchelejo, a town of the south of Spain which gives the company name. The business began as a small butcher's shop where the founders used to make homemade sausages. Soon the high quality sausages became famous throughout the whole region of Jaén and surrounding areas. In 1988, the company was eventually settled in Carchelejo's outskirts. Since then, the facilities have been expanded and improved several times.
