Carolina Allspice

This shrub has glossy, aromatic dark-green foliage. It has multiple stems that create a rounded outline. The blossoms are dark red with overlapping petals and the flowers often have a nice smell. The leaves turn yellow during autumn but are not very showy. The Calycanthus floridus adapts to many soils and grows taller in shaded places. Flowers May-July. Height 150-200cm.
