Marie Michielssen has been a Serax designer for over thirty years. Her creations are characterized by craftsmanship, manual work and a perfect balance between creativity and functionality. The Sophia collection is a further illustration of this. Originally created as a series of vases, it has now evolved into a full-fledged tableware collection. All Sophia objects feature irregular, intuitive shapes and are hand-painted by Marie Michielssen herself. The spontaneous, energetic drawings in blue ink are inspired by oriental calligraphy, where the inspiration of the moment is essential.
