The first time you light your candle, let it burn for 3 to 4 hours to allow the melted wax to reach the rim of the container, to prevent your candle from hollowing out. Do not place a lit candle near clothing, books, curtains or any flammable object. Place candleholders on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is strong enough and large enough to catch the melted wax. Keep lighted candles away from draughts, ceiling fans and other air currents.
