Our Log Dowel Growing Kit is designed for outdoor use for those wishing to grow naturally using their own cut (unseasoned) logs with no signs of damage or other fungal growth, and contains: 30 inoculated timber dowels inside a sterilized plastic grow bag with filter patch, wax, sponge applicator, full set of growing instructions, postage box and branded sleeve. We advise using fresh or recently felled (up to 8 weeks) hardwood logs up to 50cm in length (10-20cm in diameter) such as alder, oak, cherry, beech, birch or chestnut. We recommend avoiding sycamore, soft woods and conifers. Please note that holes will need to be pre-drilled to accommodate the dowels (we recommend an 8.5mm drill bit).
