For best results, plant 'Nelly Moser' in a sunny or semi-shaded spot, ensuring it is deeply planted in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Position the root ball 7.5 cm (3 inches) below soil level to encourage the formation of new shoots from the plant's base. Clematis thrives in soil that is neither too wet nor too dry; improve conditions by incorporating plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost.
