In summer, it produces clusters of small, brownish-green flowers, adding subtle texture and visual interest. The foliage retains its colour for a long time through winter, providing all-season interest and excellent cover for wildlife. Less vigorous than common bulrush, it is a better choice for smaller ponds. Beyond its ornamental appeal, Scirpus lacustris contributes to water purification by filtering excess nutrients, thus promoting a healthier aquatic ecosystem. Water depth: 0-30cm.
