From June to September, this free-flowering variety produces large velvety-purple blooms with silvery undersides. Clematis 'The President' has richly coloured blooms that are followed by attractive silvery seed heads. This RHS AGM variety, which is suitable for almost any aspect, has remained popular since its introduction in 1876. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 1m (3') Pruning group: 2.
