These tree lilies feature sturdy stalks, almost 5cm thick, eliminating the need for supports, while the foliage remains verdant throughout the season. For optimal growth, plant in moist, free-draining, neutral to acid soil enriched with organic matter. Incorporate well-rotted manure or garden compost before planting to give your lilies a great start. When planting in containers, use a loam-based compost such as John Innes No.2. Plant bulbs approximately three times their height deep and 15cm (6") apart. This deep planting helps protect the bulb during hot spells.
