Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra'

Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' is popular in urban towns and cities, for it?s tolerance to polluted air. Equally it makes for a fantastic specimen, feature tree in bigger gardens for its one of the first to bloom in spring with its pink-blushed blossoms. Flowers eventually fade to white, which contrasts well with the purple-black branches. Foliage starts bronze, then deep purple in summer, followed by red, orange and yellow in autumn for three seasons of colour. Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' adds further interest through plum-shaped fruits when mature. Height and spread: 10m (33').
