After graduating law school, Akils career propelled tremendously after winning his brother Milts highly publicized criminal case. With Milt now in Miami and out of the picture, Akil is left alone in the Atlanta streets and corporate world. Unlike Milt , Akils reputation was never built in the streets. His reputation came from winning BIG CASES causing him to be featured in various magazines and receive awards including the key to the city. His aggressive pitbull style manner in the court room penetrated local prosecutors theories often resulting in dismissed cases and hung juries.
