First published in 1814, this volume offers an illustrated catalog of the Townley Collection, one of the premier collections of ancient Greek and Roman sculpture in the world. The collection was assembled by the wealthy English antiquarian Charles Townley (17371805) and bequeathed to the British Museum upon his death.
