In 2024, after receiving a copyright strike on YouTube for playing a Brian Adams cover, he embarked on a mission to write an original song a week for as long as he could keep it up. Chris Tavener is a theatrical musician with an acerbic wit, who writes his lyrics from the perspective of flawed characters that he draws from 21st century life. His cynical social commentary, dressed in punchy guitar-driven rock and acoustic ballads has won him acclaim from BBC 6 Music and multiple BBC Introducing stations.
