Harvest Ceilidh with The Shakey Wakey Hot Shots

We're going to throw a Harvest Ceilidh at KCC Shipley! The Shakey Wakey Hot Shots - featuring local folk legends Mick and Maureen Doonan - will be guiding you through two dances and all the good times. No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm!   Hearty food will be on sale thanks to the KCC kitchen team alongside an extra bar in the small hall, and if the autumn sunshine sticks around, we'll spill out into the courtyard too.   Not only that, but we're running this in collaboration with Friends of Saltaire Primary School (FOSPS) raising funds for much-needed equipment and experiences that go beyond the school's budget.   Your ticket includes entry, and you're welcome to take part in both dances if you're really in the mood. We're aiming this event at adults and older children who can follow the moves, but if you do want to bring your littluns, we suggest coming for the first dance at 6:30 p.m.   Finally, a shout-out to another member of the Doonan clan, Seanna, who provided the beautiful illustration on the Ceilidh poster. You'll likely know sister Rosie too from the local scene, but we thought we'd give her the night off so she can hit the dance floor instead.   Get this event in your diary now, and we'll see you on Friday 2nd October for an evening of music, dancing, good food and plenty of craic!
