Hey Mister Christmas reached 13 in the UKs Christmas Singles Chart, becoming the Bands third Top 20 hit in just seven months That weeks Singles chart also featured Top 20 Christmas hits by Mud 1, The Wombles 2, The Goodies 7 and Gilbert OSullivan 12 Showaddywaddy first burst onto the scene by appearing on the early 1970s version of Britains Got Talent, New Faces winning one heat, in November 1973, and were runnersup in the 34All Winners Final34, which was broadcast on 28th December 1973. Less than a year later, they had a Christmas hit after a successful 1974, which continued throughout the decade, with Showaddywaddy ultimately being crowned as the BandArtist with the most UK hits in the 1970s than any other act, including Abba Dubbed the hardest working Band in Britain, Showaddywaddy have 80 Tour dates between July 2024 and July 2025, with 20 dates from 1st November to 20th December 2024 another 25 dates until November.
