The major difference with a sintered pad is that ceramic particles and carbon are placed into the compound mix, whilst the resr backing plate is coated with plasma to reduce heat from entering the system. The ceramic compound increase the friction of the pad against the rotor thus increasing the breaking performance. The new sintered compound provides improved bite and noise reduction and gives greater braking both wet and dry.
