This year's festival not only highlighted the excitement of competitive racing but also showcased the generosity of the Yorkshire community, raising thousands of pounds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The Summer Festival took place over nine days, featuring exhilarating races at various racecourses across Yorkshire. This event attracted some of the best trainers, jockeys, and horses, creating a vibrant atmosphere for racegoers. Attendees were treated to top-class racing while also contributing to charitable causes throughout the week.
Recognising Achievements
As the festival came to a close, several key performers were celebrated for their outstanding contributions:
Leading Trainer of the Week: Tim Easterby, who secured five winners, marking his fourth title in the last decade.
Leading Jockey of the Week: Rossa Ryan, who achieved four victories, including impressive rides at Thirsk and York.
Leading Best Turned Out Yard of the Week: Mick and David Easterby, honoured for their stable's exceptional presentation.
Moment of the Week: Tim Easterby celebrated Poets Dawn's remarkable 130th career start and 15th victory at Ripon.
Fundraising Success
One of the highlights of the festival was its fundraising efforts. The popular Paddock and Chips competition, sponsored by Sky Bet, raised an impressive £2,275, thanks to the contributions of participants like Oisin McSweeney, who alone added £300 to the total. All proceeds from this competition will go directly to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
In addition, trainer David Easterby embarked on a sponsored cycling challenge, attending every race meeting during the festival. His efforts were met with overwhelming support, raising over £13,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. His dedication and commitment captured the hearts of many within the racing community.
Community Impact
The festival's total fundraising efforts exceeded £15,000, thanks to the combination of the Paddock and Chips competition, David Easterby’s cycling challenge, and exit collections from race meetings. This significant contribution will help the Yorkshire Air Ambulance continue its vital work, providing lifesaving emergency services across the region.
