Sheffield International Concert Season 2026/27 - Halle Orchestra at Sheffield City Hall Oval Hall, Sheffield.

Opening the Sheffield International Concert season with a bang the Hallé Orchestra returns with its widely-acclaimed Principal Conductor, Kahchun Wong, now in his third season at the helm. The concert begins with Liszt's symphonic poem, Les preludes, which erupts into a sumptuous melody after its tentative opening, and closes with Stravinsky's dazzling firebird suite, a work alive with colour, rhythmic drive and fairy-tale melodrama. Sir Stephen Hough joins our resident orchestra for Beethoven's majestic "Emperor" Piano Concerto, widely considered by mans fans to be his best with its pure, dreamy second movement and utterly joyous finale.
