|A brand new boutique festival is set to light up the Moss Valley just outside Sheffield this weekend, from 14 to 16 August 2026. Known as Povey Fest, this event has been dubbed Sheffield's "worst kept secret festival," and it promises a fun-filled weekend of live music, DJs, camping, and family activities at Povey Farm.
Povey Fest Highlights
Povey Fest is deliberately designed to be an intimate gathering, with a strict limit of just 500 attendees. This smaller size allows for a more personal experience, featuring short walks, small queues, and familiar faces throughout the festival grounds. The packed programme will take festival-goers from daytime family fun into late-night music, ensuring there's something for everyone.
This year's exciting line-up features some fantastic acts:
Dutty Moonshine Big Band - Known for their energetic mix of big band music and bass culture.
Amen Sage - A live jungle and drum & bass drummer.
Speed For Lovers - A Sheffield-based post-punk/electronic band.
Special guests include Steve Edwards and his full band, Mik Artistik's Ego Trip, and Goldivox.
Exciting Music and Activities
Beyond the headline acts, Povey Fest will showcase over 15 live acts and around 30 DJs across the weekend. The wider live bill includes talented performers like The Scribes, Dirty Vertebrae, Canadians in Space, and many more. The DJ line-up is equally impressive, featuring local favourites such as Winston Hazel, Jayney's Jack Shack, and Camouflaged Disco, ensuring the music will keep going well into the early hours with late-night Silent Discos.
Festival Director Bob Worm explained the festival's unique charm:
“Sheffield's always been good at finding a party, even if you hide it at the end of a lane. After years of putting on events like Knot Tied and Illuminate the Gardens, we wanted to take everything we've learned and create something new. Povey is deliberately small: 500 people, great music, families, friends, and enough oddness to keep you wandering. We call it Sheffield's worst kept secret because, somehow, people keep finding us.”
Family-Friendly Fun
Povey Fest isn't just for music lovers; it's also packed with family-friendly activities. Children under 12 years old can attend for free, making it a great option for families looking to enjoy a weekend together. Activities include:

A variety of street food and bars
Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome, allowing families to bring their furry friends along for the adventure.
Festival Details
Weekend campers can arrive from 6 PM on Thursday, 13 August, without any additional charge.
Povey Fest is organised by the Events Collective, a Sheffield-based team with a strong track record in creating memorable events. Their previous successes include Knot Tied Festival and the beloved Illuminate the Gardens event, which ran from 2017 until 2025.
