|A talented bus driver from Sheffield is set to compete in the prestigious national Bus Driver of the Year competition after winning the regional heat for Stagecoach Yorkshire. Nikunj Popat, who works at the Holbrook Depot, has earned his place in the final, which will take place in Blackpool on Sunday, 6th September 2026. This exciting event showcases the skills and expertise of bus drivers from across the UK, and Nikunj is ready to make his mark.
Nikunj's Journey to the National Final
Nikunj Popat triumphed in a highly competitive local heat, where he faced off against other skilled drivers, including Jason Marsden from Rawmarsh depot and Jonathan Munyoro from Ecclesfield. The selection process was tough, but Nikunj's hard work and dedication paid off, allowing him to represent Yorkshire's biggest bus operator at the national level.
