Halfords - Middlesbrough

Exceptional technical expertise and a 5-star team! I recently visited the Halfords at Cleveland Retail Park in Middlesbrough and I was genuinely impressed. I dealt with a few technicians who were incredibly knowledgeable; they didn't just do the job, he took the time to explain the technical details and the why behind the work in a way that was easy to understand. I unfortunately can’t remember the names of everyone I spoke to, but the entire team was so helpful and professional. Even though the store was busy, I never felt rushed. Their attention to detail and patience gave me total peace of mind that my pedal bike was in the best hands. It is rare to find this level of genuine expertise in a retail environment. This team is a massive asset to Halfords and they are the primary reason I’ll be a returning customer. I really hope management recognises the caliber of staff they have here as they definitely deserve to be rewarded for the standard of service they’re delivering! One small suggestion for improvement: The team is clearly in high demand because they are so good! It would be great to see even more staffing support on the floor so they have more time to spend with customers without having to juggle so many tasks at once.

Great job by the young lad who carried out the lights lamp replacement for each side. Looked an awkward job and he completed the job in good time. Very polite and professional. Will use the service again if I need to and recommend this branch on Cleveland retail park.

The right bulb! I went into the Middlesbrough skippers lane store and was asked if I need help while looking for bulbs by Peter. He kindly found the right daytime running light for my car. (It needed to be right for me as I had to take the front of the car off). 1 hour later all fitted and I’m very happy. Thank you!

I went to Halfords Middlesbrough to get my daytime running light bulb replaced, and the experience was extremely disappointing. During the process, they managed to drop the bulb inside the unit while trying to remove it. They then spent around 30 minutes struggling to fix the issue but were unable to resolve it. On top of that, they couldn’t even fit a new bulb afterwards. It was clear the staff member didn’t know how to handle what should be a simple job. In the end, I was told to take my car to a “proper garage,” which is unacceptable after they had already made the situation worse. This was a basic task that should have been done quickly and professionally. Instead, it resulted in wasted time, poor workmanship, and no solution. I wouldn’t recommend going here for even simple car maintenance.

Ian in the Cleveland Retail Park was super helpful. He helped size the bikes for my son and got him comfortable in his bike choice and then a week later was really helpful when assembling the bike in store, managed it through on the same day for me. Great overall experience. Ian is a credit to Halfords!
