Their wedding day was particularly memorable, coinciding with the iconic 1966 FIFA World Cup final, making their love story even more unique.

The couple’s diamond wedding anniversary was marked by an evening filled with laughter, joy, and cherished memories. Family and friends gathered to honour Ann and Johnston’s six decades together, creating a warm and loving atmosphere at Hambleton Grange. Guests enjoyed a beautiful anniversary cake, drinks, and refreshments, sharing stories and reminiscing about the couple’s journey through life.

As part of their celebrations, Ann and Johnston received a congratulatory card from none other than His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla. This thoughtful gesture added an extra touch of excitement to their special day. In addition, Lady Mayoress Shirley Ward visited the couple in person to extend her best wishes, making the event even more memorable.
