<p>We are recruiting for an experienced Control Panel Wirer to join a busy engineering/manufacturing environment.</p> <p>This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is confident reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics and using them to wire control panels accurately and to a high standard.</p> <p>You will work from engineering drawings to build and wire electrical control panels, ensuring all work is completed correctly, neatly and in accordance with the required specifications.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics</li><li>Wire electrical control panels and control cabinets from drawings</li><li>Install and connect components including relays, contactors, terminals, power supplies, circuit breakers and other control equipment</li><li>Cut, strip, crimp, terminate and route cables and wiring</li><li>Identify cables, terminals and components correctly from drawings</li><li>Carry out point-to-point wiring and electrical connections</li><li>Check completed wiring against drawings and specifications</li><li>Maintain a high standard of cable management and panel presentation</li><li>Identify and rectify basic wiring errors or discrepancies</li><li>Work safely and maintain good housekeeping within the workshop</li><li>Liaise with engineers and supervisors where drawings or specifications require clarification</li></ul> <p>The successful candidate will ideally have:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a Panel Wirer, Control Panel Wirer, Electrical Wirer or Electrical Fitter</li><li>Strong ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics</li><li>Experience wiring control panels from engineering drawings</li><li>Good knowledge of electrical components and control equipment</li><li>Experience with crimping, terminating and cable preparation</li><li>Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship</li><li>Ability to work independently from drawings and instructions</li><li>A practical, methodical approach to electrical assembly</li><li>Relevant electrical or engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential where suitable practical experience can be demonstrated</li></ul> <p>We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who can be given a set of electrical drawings and confidently work through the panel wiring with minimal supervision.</p>
