Please visitstrive . co . uk for additional roles across engineering, production, warehouse & transport operations. </p> <p><strong>Transport Team Leader </strong></p> <p><strong>Upto £40k + Excellent Benefits</strong></p> <p><strong>West Yorkshire</strong></p> <p><br /></p> <p>Our client is a Global FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Transport professional as they look to recruit a Transport Team Leader at their site in Wakefield on a 4on, 4off basis (0600hrs – 1800hrs). </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the busy Transport operation, with a fleet size of c50 units and 60 Drivers. The site operates mainly on a single drop basis, with some multi-drop to select customers. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Key Accountabilities as Transport Team Leader:</p> <p><br /></p> <ul> <li>Manage the daily transport plan using relevant software, ensuring accurate resource allocation.</li><li>Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure loads are managed in line with the plan.</li><li>Communicate delays promptly to stakeholders and manage live load monitoring.</li><li>Audit driver packs and ensure drivers are fully briefed before departure.</li><li>Monitor transportation schedules and proactively address potential issues.</li><li>Oversee front desk administration and maintain accurate records.</li><li>Interact with customers to resolve queries and maintain strong relationships.</li><li>Produce detailed shift reports and deliver accurate handovers.</li><li>Complete sickness and absence reports, return-to-work interviews, and support investigations.</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p>The Ideal Person for the Transport Team Leader role:</p> <p><br /></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in a similar transport role is essential.</li><li>Strong knowledge of transport planning and operations.</li><li>Computer literate with experience using transport software.</li><li>Understanding of driver hours regulations and working time rules.</li><li>Good UK geographical knowledge and ability to estimate journey times.</li><li>Transport Manager CPC is desirable.</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>This is a fantastic opportunity – we look forward to your application</strong>.</p> <p>Strive Supply Chain Limited [& associated businesses] acts as an employment agency on behalf of external employers for the provision of permanent staff.
