|With the festive season just around the corner, applications for market stalls at the Christmas Light Switch On events in Wakefield District are now open. Light Switch On Events
The Light Switch On events will take place across three locations in Wakefield District, each featuring special markets, live entertainment, and, of course, the magical moment when the Christmas lights are switched on. The dates and locations for these events are:
Castleford Light Switch On: Sunday 22nd November, from 12pm to 6pm
Ossett Light Switch On: Saturday 28th November, from 12pm to 7pm
Pontefract Light Switch On: Sunday 29th November, from 12pm to 6pm
Each event is set to be a festive celebration, with a countdown to the light switch on happening at 5:30pm. These events not only mark the beginning of the festive season but also provide a platform for local organisations to connect with the community.
Application Details
For those interested in applying for a market stall, applications are open until Sunday 20th September at 23:59. This is a chance for local charities and community groups to raise awareness of their causes while engaging with visitors at the events.
All applicants will be notified by Friday 30th September at the latest. It’s important for applicants to note that they are encouraged to provide their own gazebo structure for their stalls. While efforts will be made to accommodate those without one, provisions cannot be guaranteed. Additionally, a successful application does not ensure trading at more than one location.
