All proceeds from this event will go towards the preservation and regeneration of Wentworth Woodhouse, ensuring that this historic site continues to thrive for future generations.
Plans for the future
The estate is currently facing challenges, especially following the loss of its esteemed chair, Dame Julie. However, the team is determined to continue her legacy and push forward with essential restoration work. Upcoming projects include significant repairs to the West Front roof and a full restoration of the Chapel. These developments are crucial for both the preservation of the estate and the creation of local jobs.
In addition to physical restorations, Wentworth Woodhouse is also focusing on education and skill development. Plans are underway to establish a Heritage Skills Training Centre of Excellence by 2028. This centre aims to provide practical skills training for young people who are currently not in education or employment.
