1 Your Account

If someone accesses our Website or Services using a User ID that we have issued to you, we will assume that access has been made by you. You are solely responsible for any and all access to the Website or use of the Services by persons using your User ID. Yorkshire is famous for providing the finest local produce and foodie gifts. The region's farm shops, markets and specialist delis offer a multitude of delights which include mature grass-fed beef, Dales lamb, rhubarb, apples, chocolates and beer. And you're sure to find the buzz of Yorkshire life at the many markets too!

 

A few farm shops...

  • Burton AgnesBurton Agnes Hall in East Yorkshire has a Farmers Food Store which is packed with seasonal Yorkshire produce including the Hall's own game, fruit and vegetables.
  • Town End Farm Shop - This delightful farm shop and tea room is situated in the village of Airton, close to Malham. Discover the pleasure of farm shopping and enjoy delicious food from the Dales. All produce is fresh, local and full of flavour - including Home Farm's own grass-fed lamb.
  • Farmer Copleys Farm Shop, Pontefract - locally sourced fully traceable foods and great variety. Winner of Harvey Nichols Taste Awards for their Beef and Steak Pies two years in a row, and a finalist at the Butchers Shop Of The Year Awards 2006.
  • Fodder, Harrogate - a new concept café and food shop which opened June 2009. Supporting local farmers and producers, Fodder offers customers the best food and drink from around the region.
  • Castle Howard Farm Shop - With a choice of local produce in the award-winning Farm Shop, handmade confectionery in the Chocolate Shop and estate grown plants, trees and shrubs in the Plant Centre. The Carriage House sells home lifestyle goods and accessories, and the Bookshop has something to interest bookworms of all ages. Shoppers can enjoy seasonal menus in the Courtyard Café.
  • Newby Hall Farm shop - recently voted in the top 50 farm shops by The Daily Telegraph. Ninety per cent of the food sold in this farm shop is sourced from within 40 miles, including traditionally reared meat and game from the estate's own farms, artisan bread, locally grown vegetables and other Yorkshire goodies.
  • Blacker Hall Farm Shop, Wakefield. Offering a vast range of fresh meat direct from their own farm, freshly baked bread and baking, this family run farm shop has quickly become renowned for its exceptional quality fresh produce. 
  • Kilnsey Park, Skipton visit Kilnsey Estate farm shop for their famous rainbow trout and award-winning produce from our smokehouse, including smoked trout fillets, pates and pies. They also stock a wide range of Yorkshire Dales produce and can make up special hampers. The cosy café/restaurant is open all day for a full menu of seasonal local Dales dishes, light snacks and cream teas.

Perfect places for food shopping

The Station, Richmond - The Station also houses a selection of food artisans, making and selling their produce on site. Visitors can taste freshly baked bread, handmade cheese, traditional ales from the micro-brewery, delicious food and confectionery and home-made jersey ice-cream.

Lishmans of Ilkley - Lishman's of Ilkley is a multi-award winning butchers' in the spa town of Ilkley on the gate way to the Yorkshire Dales. It has achieved a great reputation in the world of independent meat and butchery.

Fortunes Smokehouse, Whitby - Fortunes Smokehouse is a traditional smokehouse established by Mr. Fortune in 1872, which continues to supply the very best smoked kippers.

Lewis and Cooper, Northallerton - Lewis & Cooper today is a multi-award winning independent gourmet food store, packed with the most flavoursome foodie treats, fine wines, delicious gift baskets and sumptuous food hampers, all available to order online for immediate UK and mainland Europe delivery.

Weetons, Harrogate - Much bigger than a deli, yet far more stylish than a supermarket, Weeton's is sometimes called the farm shop in the town, because of the huge range of local food and drink. Stocking more than 1,000 lines of the finest Yorkshire produce, Weetons go to great lengths to combine old fashioned quality with modern flavours from around the globe.

Cryer and Stott Cheesemongers, Wakefield - As well as supplying cheeses from a wide range of manufacturers, including Wensleydale, Ribblesdale and Shepherd's Purse, we also make our own cheeses, including Ruby Gold cheese, the World's only cheese made from our famous local rhubarb.

Town & City Markets

There are many traditional markets in Yorkshire for you to visit. They are a great place to pick up quality fresh local produce as well as good place to get a feel for the local scene. Below is just a selection of quality markets around the county.

Leeds Kirkgate Market - For a unique market experience visit Kirkgate Market in Leeds. It's the largest indoor market in Europe with over 400 stalls brimming with all sorts of foody goodies. The listed Victorian market hall is a sight to behold, boasting ornamental wrought iron casings and grand stone archways. Traders in the market hustle to sell fresh yam, crab claws, succulent joints of meat, exotic spices and much more.Bingley & Shipley Open Market

Bradford & District Markets - Bradford Markets comprises of three indoor markets, two in Bradford - The Oastler Shopping Centre and Kirkgate Market, one in Keighley and two outdoor Markets one in Shipley and in Bingley.

Huddersfield Open Market's are bustling & full of well-stocked stalls with everything you need from fabrics to fashion, hardware and household goods. The markets are a vital part of Huddersfield's town centre with shoppers attracted by the superb bargains and sheer variety of goods on sale.

Otley Market - situated in the beautiful and undisturbed countryside of Lower Wharfedale, yet only ten miles from the city of Leeds. Steeped in history, Otley lies on the boundary between North and West Yorkshire. Main market on Friday and Saturday, small market on Tuesday.

Barnsley Market - Barnsley Market is located in the heart of Barnsley Town Centre. In 1996 the markets were extensively refurbished and today there is a bright modern shopping atmosphere with over 300 stalls in indoor and open areas.

Halifax Market - Halifax Market is a fabulous indoor market in the heart of Halifax, from fresh food produce to craft stalls, everything is available.

York Market - Newgate market has 110 stalls in a market square within Europe's largest single pedestrianised area.

 

Farmers' Markets

Farmers' markets are increasingly popular as a means of buying locally produced food. There is a real buzz around the quality of award winning local food on offer.
